| | Calcasieu Pass Loop & East Fork Dredging | Touted as one of the key recovery/retention projects in the
parish, this dredging project has become the barometer of Cameron’s economic
development engine through its parish and port affiliates. The Office of
Planning & Development for the Cameron Parish Police Jury and authorized agent for the West Cameron Port
Authority, underscores this project as not only essential to the current
industrial stock , but plays prominent in the parish’s future shore base
operation and its continued recruitment of LNG, deepwater, oil field service
and fisheries sustainability.
| | Calcasieu River Surveys and Navigational Data | The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers -New Orleans District, Operations Division performs routine hydrographic
surveys to monitor local river and waterway navigation conditions. This
information is used as a decision making tool for channel maintenance
operations.
The collected data is processed into MicroStation-format CADD files. The surveys are also very useful to supplement published navigational charts
with more recent shoaling and other channel condition data.
You may view the following navigation condition surveys by clicking on the links below.

District in tandem with the Cameron Parish Police Jury has been successful in
securing a $5.5 M allocation through the State’s Capital Outlay Program for the
construction of a community wastewater treatment and collection system. It has been determined that if Holly Beach is
to have any chance at redevelopment, the advent of a community based sewer system
will be paramount to effect orderly growth that is basically in the public’s
interest of health and safety.

The Louisiana Land
Trust is a non profit organization formed to manage the properties that
have been purchased by the State of Louisiana under the current Road Home Program
as part of the ongoing recovery effort from the damage caused by hurricanes
Katrina and Rita in 2005.
The Louisiana Road
Home Corporation Act became effective on June 29, 2006 under Senate Bill No
445. This Act created a non-profit corporation whose mission is "to
finance, own, lease as lessee or lessor, sell, exchange, donate or otherwise
hold or transfer a property interest in housing stock damaged by Hurricane
Katrina or Hurricane Rita.” This act gave the Road Home Corporation (now
doing business as the (LLT)Louisiana Land Trust ) broad powers to receive and
dispose of the properties, to accept funds "from any sources,” to borrow
against these properties and to obtain payment for these obligations and to
"enter into any and all agreements,” necessary to carry out its mission.
This would be done under the guidelines "set forth by the Louisiana Recovery
Authority” and to provide for financing "as administered by the Office of
Community Development.”
Funding for the
Louisiana Land Trust is provided through Community Development Block Grant
funds administered by the Office of Community Development.
